Mission Statement and Goals
The mission of the Waseca School District K - 6 Counseling program is to ensure a safe environment in which a comprehensive guidance program supports all students in reaching their full academic, career, and social/emotional potential. The program strives to promote and enhance students' achievement by delivering tiered services that assist students in acquiring skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, and lifelong learners in an ever-changing global society.
GOAL: Students will acquire the academic preparation essential to chose from a variety of educational, training, and employment options upon completion of secondary school.
GOAL: Students will investigate the world of work in order to make informed career decisions.
GOAL: Students will acquire an understanding of, and respect for, self and others, and the skills to be responsible citizens.
In any counseling situation, confidentiality is maintained except:
In cases of suspected abuse or neglect.
If a child poses a danger to self or others.
The child and/or parent/guardian gives permission to share information.
