    Development/Cognitive Delay (Moderate)/Autism Teacher

I have been working the field of Special Education since 1978. I began working as a Para-professional in the Early Childhood Special Education field while attending college. I have taught at Hartley Elementary since 1985. As a young child in fourth grade I read my first book about Helen Keller and her teacher Annie Sullivan. It was when a stirring in my heart began and it continued to grow as to worked with young children with disabilities in college. I believe that we are all capable of learning and being a success no matter what our physical or cognitive level may be. All children are special and there is no others' company or place I would rather be, than being an educator of such as these.
