Free and Reduced Meals
Meals are available at free or reduced price to students whose families meet the guidelines established by the USDA. The Food Service program is monitored by the Minnesota Department of Children, Families, and Learning. (The income guidelines are attached below with the instructions and application PDF).
If you feel your family might qualify for this benefit, please contact Waseca School's Food & Nutrition Department at (507) 835-3360. Or contact your school's office for an application. The application and instructions are also included below.
You need to apply for benefits every year. Unless meal benefits are approved on a temporary basis, approval is effective for the entire school year. You may apply at any time during the school year. You should apply or reapply to find out whether you are eligible for school meal benefits if you have become unemployed or otherwise have a decrease in household income, or have an increase in the size of your household. The information is confidential, and students who receive the benefits are not identified in any way.
In the operation of child nutrition programs, no child will be discriminated against because of race, gender, color, national origin, age, or disability.
