Superintendent Eric Hudspith began his role as superintendent of Waseca Public Schools in July 2020 after serving in public education in Mankato Public Schools and Albert Lea Area Schools for 17 years.
He has had the opportunity to serve in various roles in education. While in Albert Lea he was an elementary teacher, middle school and varsity coach, director of facilities and transportation, and an elementary principal. His career then took him to Mankato where he served as an elementary principal and director of human resources and organizational development. In July of this year he became superintendent in Waseca. In addition to these positions, Eric has also been an adjunct faculty member at Minnesota State-Mankato teaching human resource management.
Mr. Hudspith believes strongly that all students have the ability and right to succeed, and the role of education is to increase opportunities for all students. Through the work of increasing equity and access for all, he feels we can create an educational experience that will provide options for students after graduation.
In addition to his passion for education, Eric is most proud of being a husband and father. He and his wife Emily, who is also an educator, enjoy every minute they are able to spend with their children Ella (13), Cole (11), Joe (8) and Drew (6).
Although the 2020-21 school year is looking different due our current health environment, Mr. Hudspith is dedicated to leading Waseca Public Schools in continuous improvement to be the best district we can be.
