The Math Team participates in five tournaments between November and February. At the competitions, problems posed to the mathletes are dived into five events: individuals A, B, C, and D, and the team event. Events A, B, C, and D usually consist of pre-alegebra, geometry, trigonometry, and precalculus topics respectively, and the team event is a mix of all four. Every school has eight students on a varsity team and their scores are a mix of all four. Every school has eight students on a varsity team and their scores are the only ones that count in the interschool placing. Those eight take the team test together in a room. Each student takes two tests of his/her choice, and varsity students also take the team test. Of course, there can be more than eight, but any extra mathletes are considered JV.
