Pandemic Electronic Benefit (P-EBT)

The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is a temporary federally funded emergency nutrition benefit program.  Benefits are loaded on electronic (EBT) cards for families to purchase food.  The program is slightly different for the 2021-2022 school year versus the 2020-2021 school year.  A school site must meet a certain threshold for reduced attendance due to a COVID related absence.  Once this threshold is met for the school site, students attending that school site and who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals may receive P-EBT benefits for the days they do not attend school in person and not have have access to a meal service at the school due to a COVID-19 impact.

Visit or contact the P-EBT Hotline at 1-833-454-0153 for further information.  Additional details can be found in this Frequently Asked Question document.  For those families who received a P-EBT card for the 2020-2021 school year, do not throw it away.  The state will add benefits to your existing card.  There is a $2 fee to replace the card. If a new card is needed, cards will arrive in unmarked envelopes, so be sure to open your mail regularly.
