Community Education Class Information

Families, if you are interested in either of these classes, please go to for registration. We will be limiting enrollment to 9 students in each class, but if we get enough on a waiting list, we will create another section.
Home Alone: June 8, 1pm - 3pm, Grades 3 - 6
Prepare your child for the responsibility of being home alone. This course will teach them how to respond safely to a variety of situations when direct adult guidance isn't available. Participants will practice appropriate responses to answering the phone and door; discuss internet, kitchen and fire/gun safety; learn basic first aid skills and personal safety techniques; and much more. All participants will receive a reference guide to take home.
Babysitter's Class: June 8 & 15, 9am - Noon, Grades 6 & up
Receive training to be a responsible babysitter. You will learn how to interview for a babysitting job; how to handle emergencies; select safe, age-appropriate activities; feed and dress infants and toddlers; perform basic first aid skills and use manikins to learn rescue breathing techniques. Participants will receive reference materials to take home and will earn a certificate upon completion of the entire session. Reminder: Must attend both classes. Please bring a snack.
