The Waseca Bluejays girls tennis team turned in a commanding performance Thursday, defeating the Austin Packers 7-0 on their home courts. The Junior Varsity squad also came away with a 3-0 victory.
In singles play, Vivian Mader, Ava Miller, and Pearl Moore each recorded flawless 6-0, 6-0 wins, while Chloe Hagen secured a solid 6-1, 6-3 victory at the No. 4 spot.
The doubles teams were equally impressive. Paige Dufault and Layla Keith posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, while Hannah Rugger and Anna Benson cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2. The No. 3 pairing of Madison Rasche and Lily Sanchez rallied after dropping the first set to win 2-6, 6-0, 11-9.
Waseca (1-0) will next travel to New Prague on Monday, where they will face New Prague at 9 a.m. and Belle Plaine at 11 a.m.
