Girls Soccer Score

The Waseca Girls Soccer team battled hard Monday night at home but came up just short in a 1-0 loss to Kasson-Mantorville. Despite the final score, the Bluejays showed determination and created multiple scoring opportunities throughout the match.

Waseca finished with seven total shots, led by Rachel Mielke, Ava Bruhn, Gaby Lopez, and Rylee Schaffer, who combined for six of those attempts. Mielke’s lone shot was on target, while Bruhn connected on one of her two attempts. The team also generated seven crosses and eight free kicks, constantly pressuring the KoMets’ defense.

In goal, Ella Bulfer kept Waseca in the match with four critical saves, including several challenging attempts inside the box. Her strong performance highlighted a determined defensive effort that limited Kasson-Mantorville to just one goal, three corner kicks, and 10 free kicks over the course of the game.

Kasson-Mantorville held a slight edge in possession, controlling 56% of the ball, and completed more passes with a 57% success rate compared to Waseca’s 44%. Despite the disparity, the Bluejays managed 58 attacking transitions, demonstrating a relentless push to equalize.

Although the scoreboard didn’t reflect it, Waseca’s effort and energy at home provided plenty of positives to build on as they continue their conference schedule.
