The Waseca Bluejay girls tennis team earned a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Rochester Lourdes on Tuesday afternoon in Rochester. The JV match ended in a 2-2 tie.
In singles play, Maddy Benson battled back for a dramatic win at No. 1, while Pearl Moore added a straight-set victory at No. 3. In doubles action, the Bluejays secured the match with strong performances from the top two pairs—Anna Benson and Hannah Rugger at No. 1 and Paige Dufault and Madison Rasche at No. 2.
With the win, Waseca improves to 9-8 on the season. The Bluejays will now turn their attention to the Section 1AA playoffs, hosting United South Central in the opening round on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
