All Conference

The fall sports season brought plenty to celebrate for Waseca High School, as athletes from the girls soccer, boys soccer, girls tennis, and girls cross country programs earned Big South Conference All-Conference and Honorable Mention recognition for their standout performances.

Girls Soccer

The Waseca Girls Soccer team battled through a strong Black Division schedule, finishing third in the standings and earning multiple postseason honors. Senior goalkeeper Ella Bulfer was named All-Conference after an outstanding season between the posts. Bulfer’s leadership and quick reactions anchored the Bluejay defense, keeping Waseca competitive in several close matches.

Two additional Bluejays were recognized with Honorable Mention selections — eighth grader Rachel Mielke, who emerged as an offensive spark with her energy and finishing ability, and sophomore Reese Rodriguez, whose steady defensive play helped limit opponents’ scoring chances throughout the season.

Boys Soccer

On the boys side, junior defender Tovin Grannis earned All-Conference honors for his reliability and toughness in the back line. Despite a rebuilding year for the Bluejays, Grannis consistently drew the assignment of marking the opposition’s top scorers, showcasing strong positioning and field awareness. His recognition reflects his effort, leadership, and commitment to the program’s continued growth.

Girls Tennis

The Waseca Girls Tennis team continued its tradition of excellence with a 5-1 record in the Black Division, highlighted by three All-Conference performers and two Honorable Mention honorees. Seniors Maddy Benson and Paige Dufault, along with freshman Ava Miller, earned All-Conference recognition after consistently delivering key wins in both singles and doubles play.

Senior Vivian Mader and freshman Anna Benson received Honorable Mention for their strong contributions throughout the conference season. The Bluejays’ depth and balanced lineup were key factors in their successful campaign.

Girls Cross Country

The Waseca Girls Cross Country team also made its mark at the Big South Conference Championships, led by an impressive performance from eighth grader Ellie Kopschke, who ran a season-best 20:00.97 to place seventh overall and earn All-Conference Honors.

Junior Stella Omtvedt (20:52.10, 11th) and sophomore Maren Schimming (21:02.99, 14th) both claimed All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition after strong finishes that helped pace the Bluejay squad in a deep and competitive field.

Waseca’s fall athletes once again demonstrated the talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship that define Bluejay athletics. Congratulations to all the All-Conference and Honorable Mention selections for their accomplishments and for representing Waseca with pride.

All-Conference selections for volleyball and All-District selections for football will be released at a later date.
