Waseca High School is proud to announce that seniors Allen Kopetzki and Layla Keith have been named this year’s recipients of the Academics, Arts and Athletics (Triple A) Award.
Sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL), the annual Triple A Award recognizes students who excel in three key areas of school life: academic achievement, participation in the arts or activity programs, and involvement in League‑sponsored athletics. To be eligible, nominees must be graduating seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, participate in at least one League athletic program and one arts/activity program, comply with the MSHSL Student Code of Responsibilities, and be chosen as the school’s nominated senior boy and senior girl.
Allen Kopetzki has distinguished himself both in the classroom and across the field of play. A dedicated student with strong academic standing, Allen has been an active member of Football and Boys Tennis, while also contributing to the Band and Choir. Teachers and coaches praise his work ethic, leadership, and the quiet confidence with which he supports teammates and classmates.
Layla Keith brings creativity and commitment to everything she does. Alongside a solid academic record, Layla has been deeply involved in Choir, and has competed for Waseca in Tennis, Gymnastics, and Track and Field . Her teachers point to her enthusiasm, collaborative spirit, and the positive energy she brings to rehearsals, practices, and the classroom.
“Allen and Layla represent the best of Waseca High School,” said Justin Johnston, Waseca JSHS Principal. “They balance rigorous coursework with time‑intensive extracurriculars and lead by example. We’re proud to nominate them for this honor.”
The school community is invited to join in congratulating Allen and Layla for their exceptional accomplishments. Their selection as Triple A Award winners highlights the value of being a well‑rounded student and the strong culture of involvement at Waseca High School.
