Waseca Public Schools and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (JWP) Schools will once again partner to offer Adapted Bowling during the 2025–26 school year, providing student-athletes an inclusive opportunity to participate in interscholastic athletics.
The Adapted Bowling program is designed for students who qualify under the Physically Impaired (PI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) categories. All practices and most competitions will take place at Janesville Bowl in Janesville.
The season will officially begin with a parent and player meeting on Monday, February 23 at 5:00 p.m. in the JWP High School Media Center. Practices will start on March 2 and run through May 8, concluding with the State Tournament.
Teams will practice twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. JWP student-athletes will walk to the bowling alley from school and will be picked up by parents at the conclusion of practice. Waseca student-athletes will be transported to and from Janesville Bowl by bus or van and picked up at Waseca High School upon return.
The competitive schedule features matchups against several schools throughout the region, with most meets held at Janesville Bowl. One away competition will take place at WOW Zone in Mankato, and postseason play includes the Section Qualifying Tournament and the State Tournament at Bowlero in Brooklyn Park.
Throughout the season, student-athletes will compete against Hayfield, Albany, Lake Crystal, Dassel-Cokato, Goodhue, St. Peter, Mankato East/West, and Zimmerman. Section competition is scheduled for April 30 in Mankato, with the State Tournament set for May 8 in Brooklyn Park.
Bowling balls and shoes will be provided for all participants at no cost, allowing students to focus fully on developing their skills and enjoying competition. As with all school-sponsored activities, participants must remain in good academic and behavioral standing in order to be eligible for practices and competitions.
