The Waseca Bluejays put together one of their most complete performances of the season on Tuesday, April 21, rolling to a 12–2 victory over Worthington in a five-inning road contest.

Waseca wasted no time setting the tone, plating three runs in both the first and second innings to jump out to an early 6–0 lead. The Bluejays continued to apply pressure late, adding three more runs in the fourth and fifth innings to secure the run-rule win.

At the plate, Waseca’s offense was both productive and efficient, tallying 15 hits and eight RBIs. Logan Reger led the way with a standout performance, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs. He was one of several Bluejays to record multi-hit games, including Jaiden Schaeffer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Owen Honstad, who added two hits and a run driven in.

The Bluejays also showcased aggressive baserunning throughout the game. Schaeffer swiped five bases, while Honstad added three stolen bases and Reger chipped in two, consistently putting pressure on the Worthington defense.

On the mound, Reger delivered a dominant outing to earn the win. The right-hander threw a complete five innings, allowing just five hits and two earned runs while striking out seven and walking only one. He was efficient throughout, throwing 73 pitches with 45 strikes and facing just 22 batters. Reger consistently worked ahead in counts and limited hard contact, keeping Worthington off balance all game.

Worthington used three pitchers in the contest. W. Peterson started and went 1.2 innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on six hits. W. Mahlberg followed with 2.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on seven hits, while D. Larson closed out the game, surrendering three runs over one inning.

Defensively, Waseca was sharp, committing no errors and backing up their pitcher with clean, disciplined play.

With the win, the Bluejays move to 2-4 on the season and 1-4 in Big South Conference play. Waseca will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup as they travel to Fairmont on Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. first pitch. Fans are reminded that the game time has been moved up due to forecasted inclement weather in the area.
