The JWP-Waseca Bluedogs Adaptive Bowling team will have a strong presence at the 2026 Minnesota State High School League State Adaptive Bowling Meet after an impressive showing at the Section Tournament held at WOW! Zone in Mankato.
Competing against some of the top adaptive bowlers in southern Minnesota, the Bluedogs delivered standout performances across multiple divisions, earning state berths in both singles and doubles competition. Their success at sections reflects not only talent on the lanes, but also the hard work, determination, and commitment that have defined the team throughout the season.
Leading the way in the Physical Impairment division, ninth-grader Makayla Clark qualified for the state tournament in girls singles with a score of 362, while junior Adarius Radunz earned his spot in boys singles after posting an impressive 437. The duo also teamed up in doubles competition, combining for a score of 758 to secure another trip to state for the Bluedogs.
In the Cognitive Impairment division, senior Maddie Meyer turned in a strong performance in girls singles, qualifying with a score of 408. Meyer wasn’t finished there, as she later paired with junior Kasey Ibarra in doubles competition. The pair rolled a combined 823, earning one of the team’s highest qualifying scores of the day and punching their ticket to Brooklyn Park.
The Bluedogs also found success in the Autism Spectrum Disorder division, where senior Jasmyn Villafuerte qualified in girls singles with a score of 369. Villafuerte added a second state berth in doubles competition, teaming with sophomore Valente Avalos to post a combined score of 807, capping off another memorable day for JWP-Waseca.
In total, the Bluedogs qualified competitors in three singles events and three doubles events, an outstanding accomplishment for the program and a testament to the growth of adaptive athletics in the JWP-Waseca community.
The team will now turn its attention to the state meet on Friday, May 8, at Bowlero Brooklyn Park, where Minnesota’s top adaptive bowlers will compete for state honors. Competition begins with Singles at 9:00 a.m., followed by Doubles at 12:15 p.m., and Team competition at 2:45 p.m.
Family, friends, and supporters unable to attend in person can follow the action live through Neighborhood Sports Network, which will provide streaming coverage of the event, including complimentary streaming of the championship award ceremonies.
